Shantanu Deshpande is the Founder and CEO of Visage Lines Personal Care Pvt Ltd, which owns the brands Bombay Shaving Company and Bombae. The company is today the second-largest shaving and trimming brand in India, at ₹600+ crores in scale and growing rapidly. Known for its high-quality design, youthful innovations, strong brand building and now increasingly localised manafacturing. Visage Lines has been at the forefront of India’s D2C evolution over the past decade.

Shantanu has over 15 years of professional experience – including 10+ years building Visage Lines into a category-defining company, and 5+ years prior at McKinsey & Company, where he advised leading companies on growth, strategy, sales, marketing and organization.

He is an Ambassador to the Olympic Gold Quest, and serves as an Advisor to Advent International, a Tier-1 global private equity fund, as well as McKinsey & Company, where he supports the Indian partnership on their consumer clients.

Shantanu also runs The Barbershop Fund, which has deployed capital across 25+ promising startups, and maintains a personal portfolio of 50+ companies, including GoKwik, Mosaic Wellness, GoZero, Moxie, Killr, Anveshan, Mekr and many more.

Beyond operating and investing, Shantanu is deeply engaged in building India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. He hosts The Barbershop with Shantanu, one of India’s leading entrepreneurship podcasts, as well as Asymmetric, a platform exploring startups, investing, IPO’s and the consumer ecosystem. He has also launched initiatives focused on helping young people in Maharashtra understand entrepreneurship in Marathi

Shantanu holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (2011) and a B.Tech from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur (2009).

He has deep interests in sports and music.
