With a career spanning over 30 years in classical music, Nithya Rajendran brings a unique blend of artistic excellence, therapeutic insight, and spiritual depth to her role as a dual-trained classical vocalist and founder of Music Vruksh™. Her commitment to preserving and promoting Indian classical music is evident in her performances, teaching, and exploration of music’s therapeutic and spiritual potential.

Nithya’s musical journey is deeply rooted in her family’s rich musical heritage, with her grand uncle, Guruji A. S. Raghavan, renowned for his Thirupuggazh compositions. This early exposure has shaped her into a versatile artist proficient in both Carnatic and Hindustani classical traditions. Her performances at prestigious venues like Shanmugananda Hall in Mumbai and events organized by esteemed institutions such as Indian Music Group and Bharat Kalachar showcase her artistic prowess.

Under Nithya’s leadership, Music Vruksh™ has emerged as a pioneering initiative focused on teaching, educating, and awakening people to the potential of Indian classical music. Her vision extends beyond performance, incorporating music therapy techniques into her teaching methodology. She holds a certificate in Music Therapy from Nada Centre for Music Therapy, Chennai, and has served on their board of examiners.

Nithya boasts an impressive array of accolades, including the prestigious Bharat Kalachar scholarship and the
Central Government scholarship from the Centre for Cultural Research and Training (CCRT). She is a panel Indian Classical Carnatic Vocalist with All India Radio and has been invited as a judge for various state and district-level competitions.

She holds a graduate degree in Economics, a master’s in communication, and diplomas in
Photography and Multimedia. This multidisciplinary background enriches her approach to music and teaching. Nithya’s journey from a young scholarship recipient to a respected artist, teacher, and thought leader in the field of Indian classical music exemplifies a unique blend of tradition and innovation.
