Dr. Meeran Chadha Borwankar is an experienced legal professional with a history of working in law enforcement. An officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS) based in Delhi and Pune, she retired as the Director General, Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPRD) & National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). She was Commissioner of Pune Police, Joint Commissioner, Crime Branch Mumbai, Prison Chief of the state of Maharashtra, and District Police Chief at Aurangabad and Satara districts in Maharashtra. She also worked in the Economic Offences and Anti Corruption wings of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Currently Dr. Borwankar is the Independent External Monitor (IEM) for The Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), Gas Authority of India Ltd. (GAIL) and Air India. She is also on the boards of Delhi Public Schools (DPS)

A lawyer and Fulbright scholar skilled in Police & Law related issues, Dr. Borwankar is a Thought Leader in issues concerning Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice system, Leadership, Gender Studies, Youth Leadership, Organisational Leadership and Human Rights.

She is also the author of best-seller “Leaves of Life”, an autobiographical book of short stories and life lessons directed at the younger generations – especially women and girls – with over 20k copies sold in a year. Translated to English, Hindi and Marathi, it is also soon to be released in Gujarati. Her second book ‘Inspector Chougule’ deals with real police stories. I has been very well received in English and Marathi.
