Viren Rasquinha was the former captain of India’s national field hockey team. He studied at the St. Stanislaus High School, and was a member of the Indian team that finished seventh at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. He quit international hockey to pursue management studies at the age of 28.

- Played almost 180 International matches for India in a career spanning 9 years including the Athens 2004 Olympics as well as the World Cup, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games
- Retired from Hockey in 2007
- Did his MBA from Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, Class of 2009
- Currently he is the MD & CEO of Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ), a not for profit foundation with the Mission to win Olympic Gold medals for India
- Was selected as one of the 40 under 40 top Business Leaders in the country by Economic Times in association with Spencer Stuart
- Was on the PMO Task Force along with Gopichand & Abhinav Bindra that prepared the roadmap for India’s preparations for the next 3 Olympics in Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024 and LA 2028

I will be giving personal examples from my own experiences as the captain of the Indian hockey team where my dream was to win an Olympic medal for India as a player. I could not do so as a player and now as the CEO of OGQ, I am fulfilling my dream of winning Olympic medals through the 130+ athletes we support.
