FORMER ASIAN MEDALIST IN LONG JUMP AND 100 METERS HURDLES AND THE FORMER NATIONAL CHAMPION IN HEPTATHLON

During the course of the long athletic career of 15 years (1976-1992), represented Karnataka State and Country on a number of occasions, setting records along the way.

Served the country in the best tradition maintaining a high level of performance. All achieve-ments have been a result of dedication, application and sense of discipline.

The best achievement has been as a MOTHER winning a national championship within 10 months of giving birth. Also the first Indian Mother to break a National Record and the South Asian Games record. Also the first Asian woman to win an Asian medal in an Individual event as a mother.

National
In all have won 16 Gold and 11 Silver medals at the National Championships. National Champi-on in 3 events i.e. heptathlon, 100 mts hurdles and Long Jump.

Held the National Record in Long Jump and Heptathlon.

International
Won a number of International medals and have participated in two Asian Games, three Asian Track & Field Championships and two South Asian Games. Asian Medallist in Long Jump .Won medals and held games records at the South Asian Games in Long Jump and 100 mtrs Hurdles

Achievements ( Masters Competitions )

Competing at the World Masters competitions from 1999 and since then have taken part in 10 world Championships ….In all have won 4 golds, 4 silvers and 3 bronze Medals.
At the recently held world Masters at Lyon France from 4th to 15th August 2015 won the gold in Triple jump in the 50 + Category. Also the Defending champion in Asia for Triple Jump in the category..

On the Advisory board of many school‘s and colleges to improve their sports curriculum.

Founder member and convener of Clean Sports India a Movement started by former sports per-sons to fight corruption in sports organizations in the country and also to encourage former sports persons to take up administration of sports organizations and give something back to the sport that they have so enjoyed. To also encourage the younger generation on the importance of drug free competitive environment.

Part of Red Ribbon revolution which aids in eradicating stigma with children effected and living with HIV and help these children get stronger both physically and mentally by indulging in sports activities .

Director of NEB sports which organises Marathons in Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkatta, NewDelhi and Hyderabad and various others porting events in the country.
