Biography

Padmini Misra’s journey of growth has been a remarkable one, having begun as a frontline service provider to becoming senior vice president in different companies for the past 12 years. Born in the UK, brought up in a small town in West Bengal, she has spent most of her life in New Delhi. She is a student of Delhi Public School and graduate from IHMCT & AN, New Delhi. She has more than three decades of experience in the service industry, having led Business Operations, Projects, Learning & Development and HR in Hospitality, ITeS, Retail and Travel Trade.

Majority of her engagements in the last 34 years have been with startups – either by way of establishing a new function or a company. She has led projects in both hotels and IT/ITES in India, Romania, Singapore , Germany & USA.

As a strategic advisor to business, she has engaged in Multiple M & A activities at the leadership level and led the HR integration and Change Management.Defining strategic human capital agenda, talent management & succession planning, CXO level hiring, Learning and Total reward & Culture strategy are my areas of expertise. Her core strength includes execution ,rigour ,results and people.

Padmini started her career with Indian Hotels Company LTD/Taj Group of where she worked for a span of 17 years especially having begun in Food & Beverage Operations gave her a thorough understanding of the function and Business .She was General Manager for corporate training
She was selected to start the function of Training & Development in the Taj Group and also was a member of the commissioning team for 2 five star hotels. independently set up a Leisure property in a wild life conservatory. She designed & developed various Management Training programs for the group and senior level learning agendas. In addition she was the custodian of the Customer Satisfaction and Organisational Health surveys of the 50 + properties .

After that she moved to GE Capital International Services ( GECIS) as Vice President Talent Transformationwhere she was a member of the first team in GECIS, India.She handled the cultural integration between GE , USA and India, and migrated training processes and procedures.
Her responsibility included migrating business from USA , designing and developing Training and development materials , trainers and initiatives for the first time in India for the ITES business, across locations, for all levels of employees along with supporting growth of business in multiple locations.

In the year,2000 she was a core member of the startup team of Spectramind, Wipro BPO as Vice President Talent Acquisition,Strategic Leadership Development & Global Projects.
Here she handled and headed Designing and developing multi prong approaches to scale up in multiples of hundreds , manage training in 44 classrooms operating 24X7 and a manage a team of 400 recruiters and trainers. Designing and implementing interventions to retain talent, Strategic OD initiatives to provide for Senior Leadership succession planning and selection of Senior Leaders.
Her responsibilities included setting up BPO centers in Global and domestic locations. Wing to wing project management including Infrastructure, Technology, Legal, Financial & Commercial, Talent Sourcing , Training & HR ,for countries like,Bucharesti(Romania), Windsor (Canada) and India.

She then moved to the booming retail industry as Senior VP HR as the initial member of ABRL
Aditya Birla Retail Limited. Pioneered the outsourced model of high volume recruitment and training at zero cost providing quick turnaround at minimal cost. She set up an HR organisation that will enable the growth of Hyper Markets and Super Markets by providing the right talent on time, trained to serve and creating a culture of engagement and retention.

Today she is the Chief People Officer & Global Head-HR at Cox & Kings
Here she manages end to End Human Resource Management of the Cox and Kings Group of businesses including Associated & Affiliated companies globally.In addition managing projects ( new offices & existing offices ), Facility services , Risk and Disaster Management. I also handle businesses based on company requirements and have been involved in new business establishment in Germany, USA , UK , Taiwan & Singapore.
